The Narcissist-Part 2

My thoughts on narcissism... I am not an expert and do not claim to be.   That being said, I certainly carry an opinion, and want to freely express it. Thank you so much for reading!! If you have not read part 1, please feel free to. Many people believe that a narcissist cannot change. Everything I have ever read about a narcissist leans in that direction. I vehemently disagree with the fact that a narcissist cannot change.   Narcissists use coping mechanisms to protect themselves from pain and to hide their fears. Pain and fear are root causes for their wrong actions. Like any coping mechanism, what is learned can be unlearned. It is just more difficult for some than it is for others. The willingness must be there. Characteristically, the narcissist hides his real self from others because, he does not like himself and is not satisfied with himself. The Narcissist (Part 1)

It is easy to recognize a narcissist if you have ever had experience with them. I have had many encounters and entanglements with them, unfortunately. To understand a narcissist, you must first know what you are dealing with. I have written a poem that shows you how I view a narcissist.   So much chaos, I can't get control; I hide in a world that no one must know. A fantasy world where I feel safe with no pain; the dreams I create, I live again and again. No one can find me and get to my heart; no one can belittle me and tear me apart. But what is the real and what is the fake; sometimes I forget and make a mistake. No one can see that I'm hurting inside; No one can see that I'm lonely and shy.
